That's a fire!
One good thing about the rain is that it gave us an opportunity to get rid of a couple of brush piles. Don't let the picture fool you -- those flames are at least 30 feet tall.
Started as a blog to track my house building project. Includes many "in progress" photos of the house, cottage, and barn as well as some landscape shots of the beautiful surrounding Blue Ridge Mountains and the Afton, Virginia Area. For those of you that have tired of looking at photos of an uncompleted house, I'm hoping to peak your interest with some beautiful photos of life in the Blue Ridge.

Now let's see based on the amount of humidty in the air and the rainfall we have had in the last few days. The ground should have retained enough moisture to prevent the spread of the fire as long as the burn time doesn't exceed "x" hours, the heat maintains a temperature of less than "y" and the fire does not exceed "z" in size.
