October Sunrise


I have to say I'm a little jealous. The cottage gets the direct morning sun almost an hour earlier than the house.

What's that strange buzzing noise? Why that would be the hummingbird that some how ended up in the house yesterday. After becoming thoroughly exhausted it decided that it would be happy to climb onto the long stick that my brother held near it (his second hummingbird rescue). After enjoying a few sips of sugar water from a measuring spoon it regained its strength and took off out the window with a happy little chirp. What an amazing creature! It was fun to see one so close.

Bedroom nook with built-in bookshelves

Just about ready to wrap up another little house project. Once again I called in my old friend Tim to add in some detail to the bedroom (I'm trying to removed the square-box feeling the room has). We added two small closets (one on each side), and a set of perpendicular shelves. Now I just need to find (or maybe create) a nice piece of art to go over the bed. Oh, and start unpacking our books of course.

Wait until you see the front

The back porch is just about complete. It's going to be a really nice place to hang out on summer days. The views looking to the south east are gorgeous. The fog settles into the valleys after the rain. I'm really going to enjoy coming home after spending a day in "the cube".
